What is Ebola? Ebola is a virus that originated in Africa where it was first identified in 1976. The symptoms of this virus include: fever, headache, sore throat, muscular pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and a rash. Ebola typically messes up the function in your kidneys and liver and the disease causes people to bleed internally and externally. Where is Ebola located? Ebola is located all over Africa (where it was discovered), but more specifically The Democratic Republic of Congo where the outbreak of Ebola happened. Ebola is mostly all over West Africa. Ebola is also a very deadly disease. It is spread by body fluids (blood and saliva) and its fatality rate is 70% for the outbreak but can easily reach 90%. There is also no vaccine or cure for Ebola at the moment which is causing the disease to spread faster and become more deadly. If you do catch the Ebola disease there is a 2-21 days/ 3 week incubation period which means if you get Ebola you won't notice the symptoms for 2 to 21 days. The host of this viral disease is known to be the fruit bat according to most West Africans. Ebola has killed more than 3,000 people and infected more than 6,500 people and according to Barack Obama this is the worlds most deadly disease. Ebola can be prevented though and how you do that is to wash your hands, avoid contact with body fluids especially with a sick person, do not handle items that a sick person has touched or gotten body fluids on, do not touch the body who has passed from Ebola, and most importantly avoid touching bats and primates and eating there meat. One last fact about Ebola is that if you have Ebola it is important to stay quarantined to protect the disease from spreading and affecting others well being. That is my blog entry about Ebola
